For starters, there’s always been that element of mystery about him. There’s little known about his roots, apart from the fact that he was born in Beirut and comes from British-Portuguese-Chinese-Hawaiian ancestry. His father reportedly spent time in jail for drug dealing and his mother hopped from one marriage to another. Little is known about his childhood except for his love of ice hockey and motorcycles. What is actually known about him is that he has suffered a lot of pain, having to deal with the loss of his father at a very young age, the tragedy of a stillborn child and then losing his girlfriend a couple of years later in a car accident. On top of that, his sister was diagnosed with leukemia around 1991 and has been battling with the disease since then.
Despite the tragedies in his life and the badass look as John Wick, the actor found his way out of pain and has become a very compassionate and loving person. Quite impressive to handle that kind of situations if you ask me.
On May 10th 2019, Reeves made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Near the show-closing, their conversation led to Colbert asking what Keanu Reeves thought happens when we die and then the answer he received left him speechless.
Taking a moment to consider the question, the actor simply replied, ” I know that the ones who love us will miss us.”
